John was back again in Japan last month and met with the Deeper Collaboration Group. This group are the key leaders of the largest mission agencies in Japan that began meeting at a CPI Conference 5 years ago. This time we decided to have a retreat and for each leader to invite a younger leader so that our leadership influence would extend further. The group worked together on Achievable Objectives that could help Collaborate in Church Planting together across agency lines. We look forward to seeing new innovative and encouraging collaboration over the next few years like mobilizing prayer regionally and nationally. We have plans to continue to meet very soon. The retreat was near Mount Fuji which was particularly nostalgic and sentimental to John as our location is near where CPI was launched in 1994 and also near where the entire Mehn family would camp out every summer. That was refreshing. While he was in Japan, John was able to meet in person with some church planters he is currently coaching online.
