Kenyan orphans support Japan relief effort

Hiroaki Yonai, chairman of the Japan Baptist Church Association (Rengo), was brought to tears when children of the Koinonia Academy of Kibagare Slum, Nairobi, Kenya, sent a check for $600 to aid Japanese children orphaned by the March 11, 2011 earthquake/tsunami. The 78 Kenyan orphans gave from their poverty – some from their lunch money. The gift amount equals the Kenyan orphanage’s annual education budget.
Said pastor Yonai, “We were amazed and so moved by their passion.”
