Japanese Planting Churches

It sounds like a mouthful but it is very cool. I have been active with the South Kanto Church Multiplication Network for the last two years. Pastor Nakano of the Crossroad church joined this network when it started after the tsunami in 2011. There are 5 churches from various denominations involved. The goal for this three-year program is to see each of these 5 churches daughter its own new church. Crossroad has targeted a nearby growing neighborhood that has no church.

A few weeks ago we had a one night retreat for all the leaders. Most of our time was spent in coaching and encouraging one another. We spent one session focusing on our personal lives (being) and another on our ministries (doing). The Japan Church Growth Institute (JCGI) sponsors each network with a coach who brought us some training. These networks have planted nearly 50 churches in Japan and another nearly 50 are on their way. Pray for this and all the networks as they multiply churches.
