Fall into Asia

This is really strange. Sometimes I think I am not sure where I live. Last week in one morning I interacted with people from Mongolia, China, Cambodia, and Nepal. Just today it was discussions about people from Mongolia, South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Every week I have contact with my key ministry partner in India.  Even though I live in the US, my heart and mind is constantly in Asia. To dream is exciting of the potential influence our Converge Asia Impact Team could have in the months and years ahead. The dream is to see reached the over 5,000 unreached people groups throughout Asia! That demands some unique approaches to focus on a continent.

FOCUS ON SOUTHEAST ASIA

In a few days, I leave again to be in Asia for three weeks visiting Japan (see below) and Southeast Asia. In SE Asia some AIT members and others from the Philippines and Indonesia will form a team to connect with key leaders. I may be the only westerner on the team. We will be meeting with 7-8 groups in these 5 regions to explore contacts for future partnerships to reach Unreached People Groups (UPGs) in their countries and beyond. We will introduce training on 1) Mobilizing Prayer, 2) Planting Churches, 3) Coaching Leaders, and 4) Sending for Mission. John will be presenting on developing leaders through coaching and preaching in a house church. Please be in prayer for all the components to come together for profound influence in the region.

Then plans are falling together for a trip in October. I will be with a team visiting Sri Lanka’s top leaders. Probably with some local leaders from Northern Illinois will attend with me.

FOCUS ON JAPAN

This month John will connect with several key leaders in Japan, some that he mentors. He also will be attending the Seventh Japan Congress on Evangelism in Gifu near Nagoya. This event is held every 7 years and will have about 2,000 in attendance. John hopes to meet many old and new friends, listen to their stories, and be an encouragement as they further Christ’s Kingdom among the Japanese, the second largest UPG in the world. Pray for the event on September 19-22 and John’s involvement.
