Focus on Hot Japan

It was very hot in Tokyo in August. A few days before I arrived they announced a new record high. The day I left for Bangkok they announced that the new record high had already been broken. We are talking over 107 degrees! The entire month in Japan was high humidity and temperatures over 90 degrees, including the evenings. HOT!. Elaine and I don’t miss living in Tokyo for that.

I was in Tokyo just a few days but was able to meet with some key leaders researching church multiplication, visited a brand-new church plant in Tokyo Bay with an innovative approach, and coached in person some key Japanese leaders. In these visits I feel so much like a tourist and cannot see nearly the amount of people I desire to see. So different from when we lived in Japan.

Thanks for your continual prayers as the both Elaine and I and a Japanese pastoral couple work hard at getting the Sonship spiritual formation curriculum and mentoring systems into Japanese. We are over one quarter done already!  When in Tokyo, I was able to meet with this couple in person at Starbucks. Pray for us, this couple, and our backup organization Serge as we endeavor to complete this major project. In some sense, it may be the most important project I have done for the Japanese.
