Road Trip

Road Trip

Your July 2025 Update from John and Elaine

Do you like long road trips in the car?  Road trips come with good and bad. Last month Elaine and I enjoyed one of our last road trips to Kentucky and Ohio. We first visited Elaine’s sister in Kentucky as she is unable to travel to us. We had a great visit with her and other relatives. Then we headed to Ohio to visit many of our partnering churches and individuals in the Converge MidAtlantic region. We had visits with Anchor Church Avon Lake, Mentor, friends at Evangel Youngstown, and some connections with Old North Canfield. John and Elaine spoke at Mentor on Sunday, and we also attended the MidAtlantic meetings “United” at the Canfield church. We were both impressed with the health and mission of churches in this region that are planting churches and engaged in mission around the world. We are very proud to part of Converge, this region, and International Ministries. We connected with several missionaries, some Converge staff, and especially our boss Ivan Veldhuizen. John’s ministry teammate Phu Pham was also there and was recognized as he went off the regional board. Phu and John were able to meet one evening and continue their planning for South Asia. The trip was long, but the weather was very cooperative, and the people were special. We are now glad to be home in northern Illinois enjoying our normal routine and family.
