Belief Blossoms

What a month it has been! It started with Elaine’s Bible study on Genesis 1. After discussing how much the Japanese love nature, we looked at God’s creation of nature. At the end of the study one of the ladies (not a Christ believer as far as I know) said this year when she sits under the cherry blossoms to eat her obento (lunchbox), she will see them with new eyes.

A week or so later, I got an e-mail from a friend letting me know that a lady who had been in my Bible study years ago, when we lived in a different location, had become a believer and was regularly attending a church. She wanted me to know and thank me for the times we had studied together.

A few days after that we had 3 couples over for an early Easter dinner. As far as we know, none of them have yet come to faith in Christ but all of them have grown in their interest in what the Bible says. John shared with them Luke’s account of the Resurrection and how even the disciples could not believe Jesus rose from the dead. One of the husbands said that he thinks the resurrection is the most important and powerful part of the Bible. He thinks that more people need to hear this story and it would have a great impact on Japan.

Yes, God is at work in Japan! Thank you for your faithful prayers over the past 30 years and thank you ahead of time for your continued prayers. I can’t wait to see what else God will do.
